Azura’s Star is probably the first Daedric artifact you want to get in Skyrim. The star that makes it thirds appearance in the Elder Scrolls serie (Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim) is similar to a Soul Gem but has a unique property: It will not be destroyed upon usage
Obtaining Azura’s Star
South of Winterhold lies the Shrine of Azura. At the foot of this shrine you will find the quest giver Aranea Lenith. She will give you a quest to look for an elf who can turn the brightest star in the darkest night. You will find this elf in Winterhold’s The Frozen Hearth inn. Once inside talk to Nelacar and he will point you to a Deep west of Riverwood.
Once you’ve gone through the Deep you will find a Broken Azura’s Star. You now get the choice what you want to do with it.
If you would like to use the star to collect white souls (creatures only) you can hand the Broken Azura’s Star in at Aranea Lenith at the Shrine.
The Black Star
If you would like to use the star to collect black soul (human(oid)) you can hand the Broken Azura’s Star in at Nelacar in Winterhold’s The Frozen Hearth inn.
After you hand it in
After you handed the Broken Star in at either quest giver you will be trapped inside the Soul Gem to defeat it’s previous owner. After this battle the quest giver will give you the star.
This star is great for enchanting or recharging your weapons because it never gets destroyed. This allows you to greatly reduce the enchanting and recharging costs.
